Woodland nymph & A MERMAID
Edie is one of those special people who can take a vision in their minds and make it come to life. When we arrived to her magical waterside wooded location I knew it was going to make all her "forest sprite" visions come to life. Then she brought her amazing personality and laughter to the session, mixing silly with ethereal as she danced and laughed her way barefoot in the woods. The rain stayed away for the exact amount of time.
As we left the woods to head toward the water we stopped to use the soggy bench. Edie may or may not have been instructed to "put a little stank on it".
And to the water we went though I wasn't sure just how this part would go, Edie was keen on humoring the idea. The PNW was showing off all her moody glory and Edie was a champ in that cool November sound water - zero hesitation. Edie swore the water wasn't as bad as we thought it would be, and as I waded up to my knees in it, I realized I am a much bigger baby than I thought. How she was fully submerged is beyond me. But I'm eternally grateful and in awe she channeled her inner mermaid.
And this session would be totally incomplete without photos of Edie and her mom, Kendal. Roller derby brought us together, life separated us by a ferry, but every time I see her it's as if no time has passed at all.
Thank you for trusting me with your baby's senior photos, Twist, and thank you for the belly laughs and behind the scenes photos and videos still stuck in my phone. I had the best time.
